Staffars läser Previews 23:03
Välkommen till vår första genomgång på ett tag av vad som finns med i Previews.
Ett par saker innan vi startar. Det här är resultatet av vår första genomläsning av Previews, vilket innebär att det finns möjligheten att vi noterar saker som vi inte kommer att ta in till butiken av en eller annan anledning. är det något som verkar lovande är det mycket rekommenderat att ni skickar in en beställning till butiken. När detta skrivs så tar vi vanligtvis 10,00 kr/$ men det kan ändras rätt snabbt beroende på svängningar i valutakursen, det ger dock ett visst hum om vad tidningarna och albumen kommer att kosta.
För att göra det lätt att följa genomgången så har vi följt Previews indelning av förlag och dess ordning på titlar.
Med det avklarat hoppar vi raskt till katalogen för tidningar och album som är tänkta att dyka upp i med början i maj med fortsättning in i juli.

Intressant att Dark Horse plockar upp och börjar göra dagspressåtertryck. Synd bara att de satsar på ett format och utförande som är dubbelt så dyrt som alla andra. Omotiverat dyrt tycker jag och det är synd för de här serierna har inte funnits tillgängliga på många år nu.

Har det verkligen gått 10 år sedan den här boken kom ut. Vet inte varför det gör mig deprimerad, förmodligen för att Eisner när han var 80 fortfarande sparkade stjärt gentemot en hel del av dagens unga förmågor.

Paul Chadwick tillhör mina absoluta favorittecknare och berättare, Harlan Ellison har jag dock igen relation till men vet att han är oerhört respekterad i vissa SF-kretsar. Kombinationen gör att jag är oerhört nyfiken på det här albumet. Vanligtvis när prosaförfattare skall göra serier blir de onödigt pratiga och berättande men jag tror att en sådan begåvad bildberättare som Chadwick kommer att hålla sådana excesser i styr.

Den här boken är den som jag rekommenderar om man vill testa någon av dom. De är de som valt att berättarmässigt ligga närmast Watchmen. Vete fåglarna hur vi kommer att beställa dom här förutom att vi kommer beställa minst av just Straczynski.

Jag minns när nyheten att James O'Barr hade återvänt till The Crow hade toppat nyhetssajterna (eller fanpressen är kanske mer korrekt). Efter kultfilmen så var Crow extremt hett och Barr dessutom. Nu drunknar den i mängden av alla serier som ges ut just nu. För de nyfikna så finns en preview här.

Hmm. Kieron Gillen gör en serie för Avatar. Det kommer förmodligen inte bli en äckel-päckel orgie som en Warren Ellis titel brukar vara här. Kombinationen nazister och superhjältar är väl inte helt unik men jag har en känsla av att Gillen kan göra något personligt av det hela.

Jag gillar verlkigen att han försöker göra lite unikt och han verkar ha tänkt till lite på vad som skulle hände om folk fick superkrafter, givetvis skulle de utnyttja sina krafter för egen räkning. Den här tidningen låter skoj och jag hoppas att den håller. Boom! jobbar hårt och de förtjänar att få en hit, inte minst för att möjligheten att fler serieskapare kan då tjäna pengar.

Om det stämmer att Clive Barker skall skriva serier så är det rätt stort även om han nuförtiden känns lite bortglömd. Det var en period under 90-talet då han var det hetaste som gick i två par skor men nu var det länge sedan jag hörde något om honom.

Här har vi någon som faktiskt verkar vara på samma nivå som omslagstecknaren inuti. Du hittar ett matigt smakprov på serien här.

Här är något som borde vara en guldgruva för blivande serieskapare med sin titt in bakom kulisserna på From Hell. Manuset från From Hells första kapitel gavs ut som en bok för många herrans åsikt. Det blev som en tjock roman i stället för de 48 sidor eller så som komprimerades ned till. Nu får vi Eddie Campbells guidning genom skapelseprocessen vilket kommer bli väldigt intressant då han är en ytterst medveten serieskapare som kan motivera sina val. Borde vara ett givet inköp för alla landets serieskolor.
